Dr. Yamamoto completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Riverside with a degree in the bachelor of arts in psych-biological sciences. He then traveled across the country and received his doctor of optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry, where he was an active participant in charity programs with the local elementary schools vision care for youth. Living in New York, truly opened his eyes to the world while be able to learn the latest and innovative optometric skills that he uses today. Currently, Dr. Yamamoto and his wife reside in Fullerton, CA where they plan to raise a family because of the close proximity to their families and a fair commute for him and his wife as she is a city attorney for the city of Los Angeles.
Dr. Yamamoto, also, practices in Long Beach, CA where he is a partner to the practice. He has experience working with a multitude of various types of optometric practices, ophthalmologists, Indian hospitals, and army bases to name a few. Dr. Yamamoto is a member of optometric organizations such as the AOA, COA and his local society. He, also, serves on the board of the AAOS as the treasurer. For leisure, he still “tries” to play basketball in various organized leagues and is an avid golfer, who aspires to make the senior PGA tour someday. As this is something that will not come to fruition, optometry remains his passion.
